หลังจากที่ทาง Google ได้ทำการเปิดตัวสมาร์ทโฟนตัวใหม่อย่าง Pixel ไปแล้วนั้น คราวนี้ก็ต้องหันมามองอนาคตของ Nexus กันบ้างว่าจะเป็นอย่างไร หลังจากที่ Nexus ได้เปิดตัวตั้งแต่ปี 2010 ก็มีสมาร์ทโฟนออกมาภายใต้ชื่อ Nexus ออกมาด้วยกันหลายรุ่น

ซึ่งทางตัวแทนของ Google ก็ได้ยืนยันกับทางเว็บไซด์ The Verge ว่าไม่มีแพลนในการผลิต Nexus อีกต่อไป ล่าสุดก็ได้ทวีตข้อความผ่านทาง Twitter Nexus ‏@googlenexus ว่าจะคงยังสนับสนุนลูกค้าที่ใช้ Nexus ต่อไป
